We need an offensive coach that can teach players how to shoot . Why do we make back up goalies look like Vezina winners ? All our shots go direct at the goalies body !! No one on this team can pick a corner or shoot under the crossbar . I played junior A in Canada - Years ago . And our coach had plywood cutouts he would put over the net with certain areas open . The forwards would spend at least 15 minutes or more every practice working on their shooting .
That skill has to be worked on all the time or you loose it . We need some fresh thinking in this organization . The old thinking is not working anymore . I am sure Mr Pegula could afford a few sheets of plywood !!
Try something new , this team has become an embarrassment . There was so much optimism when Mr Pegula bought the team . That is all gone now . Might as well try something . Thank god I bought center ice so I can see real teams play.

Right on, Grath! The turnaround is just over the hill. There may be a couple more speed bumps in the road but this team will gel soon and begin the inevitable push for not just the playoffs, but a deep run! Let's go Buffalo!!

Don't think in season trade has any chance with the Sabres. If O'Reilly holdout continues into the offseason I think then Darcy would make a call.

I like the skill set, but trading for someone coming off one (edit: moderatley) explosive season, who then holds out for high level money and misses a lot of NHL time in doing so...

They should proceed cautiously.

I would offer Ennis + Pysyk or Gauthier-Leduc + pick. If you can get them to take Staff in some kind of deal but highly doubt it

Sorry, but you really are missing the most basic of fundamentals, and that is HEART...

We can talk all day about defensive zone coverage and discipline to prevent penalties, but if the players continue to lack the heart and desire necessary to make these changes and to play hard every shift, none of what you speak of really matters.

If they are putting in the effort to try and win every puck battle, does it really matter how many faceoffs they win or lose? If a player is out there giving his all every second of his shift, do I care how long that shift is?

Unfortunately, you can't teach HEART...so while we focus on these teachable fundamentals, perhaps we should acknowledge that is really on the players to make this work. And for players lacking HEART, you are wasting your breath.

Keep blaming the players for this teams failures, maybe in another 15 years they can find another Chris Drury for everyone to get a man crush on and Lindy can get us to the ECF. It's so obvious what needs to be changed

Ennis has a .66 ppg average, O'Reilly is running at .45, and taking out last year he is at .33. He's also unsigned and hasn't played in the league in several months now. Ennis straight up for O'Reilly would be risky - throwing in Psysk or McNabb on top would be a poor bet.

I'm all for improving the team and would like to see O'Reilly suit up for the Sabres, but that would be a desperation trade and I feel we might end up being disappointed in what we got back this year.

If this team keeps going at the same pace till the end of the month, you might as well go with the flow and wait for ufa's at the end of the season. Unless something falls from the sky.

That would be an appropriate trade. Stafford is cheaper but more productive..
